Oregon Modern // Custom Tract-Housing
Location
Tigard, Oregon
Located in the hilly area of the Bull Mountain Neighborhood in Tigard south of Portland that is filled with other unique MCM homes. Only a few Rummers were built in this area and feature large yards and impressive views. This Gallery Rummer was built at the request of an Oregon Senator on the top of one of the hills facing north with a Northeast view of Council Crest and the West Hills that form the west border of Portland and the beginning of Washington County.
Concept
MCM Family Housing
Based on Eichlers built in the LA and South Bay area of California. Most of Bob's designs were based on A. Quincy Jones, Claude Oakland, & Frederick Emmons. Unlike Eichler's that tended to have a single car garage, a single bathroom in a 4 bedroom house, and interior designs that favored looks over use; Bob's interpretation had double garages, two bathrooms at a minimum, and interiors designed to be more conducive to practical family living. While each floorplan of his homes may look similar, each one is slightly different.
